Making a difference: Steward led clean-up at Cobbs Creek
We love connecting students to nature. Spending time in nature has a host of benefits, and it leads to life-long change and growth. Sometimes it also leads directly into action.
With our Steward Christian Kelly from The USchool we saw this happen on Feb. 25th, when Christian brought twenty of his classmates to Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center. Working with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation’s Stewardship Team the students cleaned over 500 pounds of trash out of our city’s parks and creeks. Then, their teacher Ms. Osmund led a water testing activity, giving the students the chance to learn about the environment they were working to protect. We’re proud of Christian’s work and look forward to more positive work done by our Stewards and their schools in the future.
